Join Charlie Gilderdale from our NRICH team and special guest Professor Julia Gog OBE for this free online webinar to explore our new Contagious Maths curriculum-linked resources. The event is aimed at teachers of students aged 11-14.
NRICH's new curriculum-linked Contagious Maths resources for ages 11-14 enable students to use the mathematics they already know to understand how maths can help us tackle infectious disease.
These free KS3 resources are designed to explore how important real-world problems can be tackled with maths. Explanatory video clips give students the opportunity to join researchers on the mathematical frontline to learn more, and the resources include interactive tools to enable students to explore building mathematical models themselves.
The resources have been developed with Professor Julia Gog, who joins NRICH's Charlie Gilderdale for this webinar. Julia is Professor of Mathematical Biology at the University of Cambridge. Her research is in the mathematics of infectious diseases, and her experience includes working on the COVID-19 pandemic. Julia was a co-presenter with Jonathan Van Tam of one of the 2021 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures.
